This course will introduce the student to the field of conflict resolution studies by examining the nature, sources and uses of conflict, and the importance of communication and problem-solving skills in managing and resolving conflicts. Particular emphasis is placed on interpersonal and group conflicts, but the course will also consider family and workplace disputes, and will examine the role of third-party mediation in political conflicts.
