A series of lectures/discussions, given over the fall and spring semesters by scholars from various disciplines. Each year the series revolves around a different general topic and highlights its various aspects. The lectures are supplemented with a bibliography of prescribed references. Students meet in small groups to discuss the lectures. The writing of a substantial paper and an oral presentation are undertaken with the guidance of a mentor. Prerequisite: Approval of honors degree program director. 3 credits. FS
