Emphasis will be on how the culture defines perceptions of women's bodies and determines their sport role opportunities. Issues discussed are gender socialization, athletic stereotypes, history of women in sport, the Olympics, legal issues, media perceptions, minority issues and the future of women in sport. 1 credit, weekend intensive.
