An introduction to the basic management processes, theories and applications in contemporary organizations. The course will review managerial programs and practices intended to enhance individual and organizational performance. The major topics include planning and control functions, decision making, organizational design, human resource management, communication, leadership, motivation, work teams and innovation. Special attention will be paid to existing and emerging trends in technology and globalization. Also, consideration of ethical issues in managing people and resources will be emphasized throughout the course. Not open to students who have taken BUS 220 or 310. 4 credits. NLA. FT
