Classical genetics: Mendelian inheritance, the cellular basis of heredity, linkage and chromosome mapping. Molecular genetics: the structure of chromosomes, DNA replication, gene expression, gene regulation, mutation and repair. Human genetics: pedigrees, inherited diseases, the human genome project. Two hours of lecture and four hours of lab per week. Prerequisites: BIO 101, 102. 4 credits. F
