A study of bacteria, fungi and parasites, with emphasis on human diseases. Attention to normal flora, immunity, epidemiology, and control of disease. Laboratory work to include methods of isolation and identification of bacteria, and the use of disinfectants and antibiotics in their control. Prerequisites: College level laboratory biology course and high school or college chemistry. Includes a three-hour laboratory session. Not applicable toward baccalaureate degrees in biology. 4 credits. F
