Prerequisites: Junior standing or instructor's permission. To have pre-service teachers develop an understanding of the importance of teaching adolescent students reading writing thinking listening and speaking skills in the content areas. To help pre-service teachers develop a knowledge of the best practices and strategies of teaching reading writing thinking speaking and listening in the content areas. To provide pre-service teachers the opportunity to examine and develop materials appropriate for the content area of their concentration. To provide pre-service teachers with an overview of the use and appropriateness of multiple assessment tools.
