Prerequisites: None. This course is designed to introduce the marvelous field of astronomy to anyone wishing to acquire a better understanding of our universe and everything in it. Emphasis will be on recent events and discoveries such as planetary explorations comets black holes quasars and origin of the universe. Students through text-based assignments lab exercises and an individual research project will increase their understanding of the universe we live in.
