(GE6) A study of the universe that begins with the earth as a planet, the planets and the satellites of our solar system, and moves out through stellar astronomy to galaxies and into the very fabric of the universe. It includes an evaluation of the methods and techniques of astronomy. Offered fall semester. Both day and night laboratories. Lecture, 3 hours; laboratory, 2 hours.
