3 cr. Provides prospective teachers with an understanding of a contemporary and reflective approach to teaching health in the public schools grades K-12. This approach to teaching is based on learner-centered instructional strategies. Participants will learn and practice skills that will be most useful to them as beginning teachers such as: (a) establishing the learning environment; (b) planning appropriate and meaningful learning experiences; and (c) using effective teaching behaviors to implement the lesson plans.
