The course will focus on the socio-cultural representation of women in the literature of different historical periods, literature by women, the problematic of the female author, and the impact of feminist/ gender criticism on English Studies. May also examine feminist and/or gendered critical approaches to literature, the appropriation or transformation of literary genres by women writers, or writing of women during a particular historical period. Specific content will vary depending on the instructor. Repeatable for credit as topics change.
