P: MATH M014 or higher. A systematic examination of problem perception and problem-solving techniques with an emphasis on data processing and information systems applications. Includes the study of structured methodologies and various heuristic and algorithmic procedures. By providing training in problem solving independent of a programming language, the student will be better prepared to use these skills in programming and computer applications classes that assume their mastery.
