This is a Texas Common Course Number. Prerequisite: Credit or concurrent enrollment in Physics 1311. The student uses simple equipment to make elementary astronomical observations of the motions of celestial objects. Also covered are elementary navigational techniques, graphical techniques of calculating the position of a planet or comet, and construction of simple observing equipment.
