Prerequisites: Math 1021 and Math 1022, SCI 1012, or permission from the instructor. Introduction to the basic physical sciences integrating topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Earth Science. Material will cover a variety of topics ranging from properties of natural materials and natural processes related to wave motions, heat and light. Course will integrate lab and lecture in a hands-on, constructivist classroom experience designed to provide future elementary school teachers with a firm scientific understanding of the topics presented and the skills needed to bring that knowledge into the elementary/middle school classrooms. This course may be used for degree credit only by elementary majors.
