Prerequisite: Admission to Non-degree (Post-Baccalaureate) Teacher Certification program. This course engages students in discussions and activities dealing with fundamental aspects of educational philosophies, learning styles and theories, an introduction to basics of school organization and governance, classroom management, curriculum development and lesson planning, benchmarks and standards, and principles of assessment. Attention is focused on adapting instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and the roles of educators in effective schools. Offered for graduate credit only.
