Prerequisites: EDHS 1401 or consent of department. Continues instruction in hte basics of medical terminology, the root of all diagnostic and coding reporting. Teaches students basic anatomy and physiology and disease pathology of the following systems: cardiovascular, respiratory, blood, lymphatic, immune, musculoskeletal, skin, eye, ear, and endocrine. It also covers pharmacology, psychiatry, oncology, radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy. Emphasis is placed on the medical terminology using prefixes, suffixes, roots, and combining forms.
