Topics include processes and files; scripting; system installation; boot and shutdown; process management; daemons and services; devices and drivers; network fundamentals; network file systems; network services. Topics may also include kernel configuration; performance analysis; accounting and system logging; security. The course requires lab projects on dedicated departmental equipment.
