Students will develop a database application using the relational model and DBMS. Special emphasis in understanding the steps involved in designing a database and using a relational model to implement the design. Th e design implementation starts from the conceptual design to the implementation of a database schema and user interfaces to the database. Students will use a commercial database management system, the database query language SQL. Considerations for database maintenance and security will be addressed as well as current trends in object oriented databases and eCommerce applications. Prereq: CIS 510 4 cr.
