Earthquake and volcanic hazards, river flooding, mass movements and slope stability, coastal hazards, and water resources and pollution. Lectures and problems sets emphasize the quantitative approaches used to determine the likelihood and frequency of natural hazards, assess associated risks, and mitigate damage.
