The object of the course is to try to work through the path of argument in Volume 1 of Capital. How does Marx elaborate upon the concept of critique? How is Capital a work of critique? How do contemporary transformations in global political economy relate to Marx's critique of political economy? Other works by Marx may be used insofar as they help us obtain a deeper purchase into Capital.
