Concentrates on analysis of money and its functions, the mechanics of the commercial banking system and its determination of the money supply, the Federal Reserve system's functions and policy instruments, the impact and effectiveness of monetary policy on the public, commercial banks, and the treasury, and its overall impact on the economy. Prerequisites: ECON301 and ECON302.
