Focuses on the mechanisms as well as hands-on laboratory experience of running typical security systems or securitycritical software. Laboratory exercises include security policy design and management, auditing and monitoring tools, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, web server configuration and maintenance, communication security protocols configuration and maintenance, software security tools, etc. Prerequisite: CPSC/MIS580 or equivalent course with the instructor's consent.
