Introduces procedural abstraction, sequence control structures, including selection and repetition, data abstraction, arrays, records, files. Emphasizes program design, testing, and documentation using good programming style. Prerequisites: Students are expected to have completed the equivalent of college algebra. Completion of at least one programming course in a high level language, BASIC, FORTRAN, COBOL, PASCAL, etc., is recommended.
