3 credits each semester A two-semester sequence which includes a study of the structures, preparations and reactions of aliphatic and aromatic organic compounds, and an introduction to macromolecules. Structural theory, reaction mechanisms and energy factors are emphasized. Each course is designed to be taken with the corresponding laboratory (303L and 304L) Lecture and discussion 3 hours per week. Prerequisites: CHM 152 General Chemistry and CHM 152L General Chemistry Laboratory. Corequisite: CHM 303L, CHM 304L Organic Chemistry Laboratory I, II
