Looking at artifacts made between 1800 and 2004, the class will examine books, buildings, chairs, paintings, photography, pottery, silver, type design, and videos in order to identify functions and analyze values systems. Courses of Instruction: New York State College of Ceramics 273 We will consider how the ways design expresses aesthetic and moral belief systems and question how new materials and technology influence the way we define "modernity."
