Providing a comprehensive coverage of organizational data base systems, this course is structured around the data base development life cycle which provides the framework for conceptual data base design, for data base implementation, and for the management of data base systems. Using a strategic and tactical management framework, issues covered include data base planning, data base management system selection, data base administration, security and integrity, and distributed data bases. Prerequisite: MIS 190 or permission of instructor.
