This course makes more sophisticated use of the basic laws of mechanics and includes sections on rotating coordinate systems, orbits in inverse square law fields, the analysis of vibrating systems and waves, Lagrange's and Hamilton's equations, and an introduction to the topic of chaos. Prerequisites: MATH 271, PHYS 125 and PHYS 126. (Alternate years)
