1-4 hours. For students with a particular interest in an aspect of German language, culture or literature not covered in any established course. A 4-hour independent study is required of German majors. Approved Plan of Study required. GERO 118 - Introduction to Adult Development and Aging 4 hours. This course examines adulthood and aging from a biopsychosocial perspective. Topics include research methodology in adulthood; theories of normal aging, physical and environmental influences on adult development; diseases and disorders associated with aging; changes in cognition; intelligence and wisdom; gender and minority issues in aging; issues regarding death and dying.
