Life forms have been influencing the nature of the atmosphere for millions of years, but in recent centuries, human activities have caused profound changes in the atmosphere that are now affecting ecosystems. These include emissions that have caused acid rain, global climate change, damage to the ozone layer, and mercury pollution. This course will explore the effects humans (and other biota) have had on the atmosphere and the results that these changes have had on ecosystems. (F)
