This course involves a study of the science of sounds necessary for the prouduction of speech. This course is designed to train the student to hear and discriminate among the speech sounds of General American English, to train the student in the use of the International Phonetic Alphabet, and to give the student an understanding of how speech sounds are produced. Prerequisite(s): Written permission required.
