Provides a conceptual framework for knowledge of human behavior and the social environment with a focus on individuals. Social systems, life-course, assets, and resiliency-based approaches are presented. Special attention is given to the impact of discrimination and oppression on the ability to reach or maintain optimal health and well-being. Prerequisite: BIOL 1543, BIOL 1541L, PSYC 2003, SOCI 2013, SCWK 2133, and SCWK 3193.
