7 credits: 4 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory The Nursing Assistant (NA) course follows the mandated Nursing Assistant Program curriculum adopted in Arkansas. Emphasis is placed developing the knowledge and skills specific to nursing assistant duties. Classroom, applied lab, and clinical training in long-term health care facilities are included in this course. Students who successfully complete the NA Program are eligible to take the skills and written examination that leads to Arkansas State Certification. Those students who successfully become certified are placed on the State Registry as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). This course may be transferable toward a limited number of associate and baccalaureate degrees. Contact advisor for information regarding transferability.
