6 credits Prerequisites: IET 1203 and IET 1703, EIT 2804 and EIT 2405 Presentation of the four basic categories of instrumentation: pressure, flow, level, and temperature. Operation of primary sensing and transmitting elements such as controllers and recorders are covered. Practical applications utilize feed back control loops, feed forward control loops, direct digital control, and final control element selection with regard to reliability and fail safe operation. This course may be transferable toward a limited number of associate and baccalaureate degrees. Contact advisor for information regarding transferability.
