Prerequisites: admission to the early childhood education program and successful completion (C or greater) of MATH 3380. Second mathematics education course for early childhood education majors (no emphasis in mathematics). Problemsolving, estimation, number sense, development of computational algorithms, mental computation techniques, measurement of two- and three-dimensionalobjects, geometry, probability, data collection and analysis, technology, proportional reasoning, and historical developments in mathematics. Emphasis on problem solving, reasoning, communication, and connections. Two hours lecture and two hours laboratory. Three credit hours.
