Prerequisites: ERSC 1302, ERSC 1102, and 4 hours of any other ERSC course, or consent of instructor. Sedimentary processes and products; siliciclastic sediments and environments, biogenic, chemical and other nonsiliciclastic sedimentary rocks and the environments in which they form; principles of stratigraphy including lithostratigraphy, quantitative biostratigraphy, and sequence stratigraphy; geophysical and chemostratigraphic correlation; geochronology and chronostratigraphy; and basin analysis. Two hours lecture, four hours laboratory per week. Weekend field trips. Four credit hours.
