Prerequisite: CHEM 3351, 3151 or 3250. Other courses recommended but not required are CHEM 3370, 3371, 3170, 3171, and 3572. Theoretical and practical aspects of polymer chemistry will be coordinated. Topics include history, types of polymerizations, kinetics, molecular weight, physical properties including thermal and spectroscopic characterization, biopolymers and engineering resins. Dual-listed in the UALR Graduate Catalog as CHEM 5380. Lecture two hours, laboratory three hours. Three credit hours.
