Prerequisite: PHIL 2320 and PHIL 1310 or consent of instructor. Examination of the methods, presuppositions, and implications of empirical science. Special emphasis will be given to the metaphysical assumptions that ground the scientific enterprise, and the interface between the pursuit of science and the moral interests of society.
