Application of physical principles to solutions of realistic problems using Mathematica. Error propagation, iterative techniques, approximations, data analysis/signal processing, numerical solutions to differential equations, and basic statistical manipulations applied to systems with many degrees of freedom, nonlinear systems, rotational mechanics, advanced electric field solutions, heat transfer, scattering, and diffraction. Prerequisites: PH 305, MA 238 or MA244 and CS 102 or equivalent. PH 305 recommended. Fall.
