This course is designed to provide basic theoretical knowledge related to the nursing care of the organ/tissue donor, transplant recipient, and their family. Course content focuses on historical and current issues in transplantation nursing including the impact of legal, ethical, political, economic, and socio-cultural issues. Students will examine the roles of the professional nurse in the management of patients and their families. Current research and use of technology will be discussed. Lab Fee: $30. Fall, Spring.
