This course provides an in-depth study in and application of the process of reading and reading instruction, theoretical approaches, instructional strategies, classroom organization, and the formal/informal assessment of reading in intermediate grades. This course is required of all elementary education majors and secondary education candidates who are pursuing a middle school endorsement. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program or permission of the chair. Intensive field experience required. Prerequisite: ED 375.
