This course examines: Growth and development of children from birth to age 9 in the context of family life; etiological factors affecting young children with developmental delays; cultural, familial, educational and legal implications; behavioral characteristics of children in early intervention programs; the philosophy, methods, materials, settings and acceptable standards involved in the intervention and instructional procedures of early childhood-special education programs. Prereq: SPED 300. Recommended prereq: SPED 420.
