An introductory course designed for science majors that investigates the ecology, evolution and diversity of form and function of the organisms primarily in the Kingdoms Animalia and Plantae. Lab experiences include the collection, analysis and interpretation of zoological and botanical data. This course requires field work involving physical activity. Three one-hour lectures and one two-hour lab. Students should not attempt BIOL 130 unless the results of mathematics testing indicate placement in MATH 140 or a higher level course. Students may not receive credit for both BIOL 130 and BIOL 120.
