TRIO 204 - Peer Tutoring

Upon completion of this course, students will be familiar with various types of tutoring strategies that can be used in individual and small group settings. Communication skills, planning, academic skills building, information processing models, and presentation techniques will be addressed. Students are required to participate in a four-hour tutor training session at the beginning of the semester and attend two tutor talk meetings during the semester. Students are expected to apply tutoring techniques, present a workshop in LACE, and assist as a student volunteer through LACE. Prereq: consent of instructor and recommendation of faculty from area of tutoring emphasis. (fall/spring)
