The biology of the phylum Chordata, in particular the vertebrates, with an emphasis on their systematics, structural evolution, and functional morphology. Laboratory dissection of the shark, salamander, and cat. Fall or spring semester. Lecture 2 hours, laboratory 4 hours. Prerequisite: Biology 122 or equivalent with a minimum grade of C. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
