Fundamental concepts of physical geology. Topics include the dif-ferentiation of the Earth, origin of the oceans and atmosphere, igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary processes, earthquakes, plate tectonics, mountain building, surficial processes, glaciation and climate modeling, geologic time, evolution of life, and Earth history. Includes hands-on experience with rocks, minerals, fossils, and maps. $30 Course Fee. Prereq: equivalent of MATH 007 or higher.
