This course focuses on the traditions, forms, and methods of oral storytelling. Students study tales and techniques from a variety of cultures, practice many genre of stories and styles of telling. Upon completion of this course students will have researched tales from many cultures and time periods, practiced performing for several audience types and ages, know effective story content, practiced skills in communicating clearly and expressively, and understand a variety of story themes and topics from cultures in addition to their own.
