The information system functions as a service and supports the overall operations of the organization. This course is designed as a capstone; it ties together concepts learned in various computer application courses as well as introductory management courses. This course emphasizes management functions and how they apply to and interrelate with information systems. This course contains a significant project management theory component including the hands-on use of project management software in assisting the analysis and design aspects of the systems project. Students will be evaluated on the basis of performance on examinations, case studies, and completion of a systems project for a selected business/institution. $10 Course Fee. Prereq: COMS 205, COMS 210, COMS 260, and COMS 265, or c/i. (fall)
