This course is designed to teach students how to identify, diagnose, treat and manage communication problems associated with the aged. Special attention will focus on speech, hearing, language, voice, fluency problems, commonly seen among the elderly. Various diseases, medications, social conditions, biological, sociological and psychological factors will be studied to isolate their influencing properties. (Formerly SPTH 479) Prerequisite: Permission of department head required.
