A study of the techniques of conducting a band or an orchestra, with particular emphasis on use of the baton, score reading, program planning, and rehearsal procedures. Scores suitable for use in secondary school bands and orchestras are examined and evaluated. Prerequisite: junior standing in Music. Two lectures. Required of Music Education and Liberal Arts majors and most Music- Commercial Music majors.
