A systematic study of the important minerals with emphasis on their crystallography, descriptive mineralogy, crystal chemistry, phase relationships and associations. Lectures emphasize theoretical aspects of mineral studies, while the laboratory portion is devoted to the descriptive and practical. Prerequisites: GSCI 111 or permission of instructor.
